The E-Max crown is a type of all-ceramic crown which is preferred for its longer lasting, aesthetic qualities. These crowns and the Zirconia crowns are worn due to their strength, cosmetics, and ability to not cause damage to opposing teeth.  We can shade them to match the color and shade of your teeth.

It is considered the best option for damaged, stained or poor quality anterior teeth.   This is a type of all-ceramic crown that has an appealing translucent color  combined with extra strength and durability.  E-MAX  is made from a single block of lithium di-silicate ceramic- which is a top grade ceramic material  harvested for its toughness, durability and opaque qualities.

It is considered a breakthrough in dental crown technology.  This crown is tough and beautiful yet it will not wear down opposing teeth like abrasive porcelain crowns will!

There is no metal alloy base with this crown which means no unsightly looking grey line around the gum line and no chance of an allergic reaction to metal.

They are strong, long lasting and unlikely to crack or fracture as compared to many other types of crowns.

Disadvantage of E-Max:

Emax is not as strong as pure Zirconia (which means we usually use Zirconia for Molar teeth) and Emax is more expensive.   So cost is one of the biggest disadvantages – yet we do offer it at a discount of  $850 for the present time.

( a Very Safe Way to Crown a Tooth):

A zirconia crown is a popular type of all-ceramic crown which is worn to improve the appearance of a tooth which has become stained or disfigured over the years. They are durable, easy to wear and long lasting.  All  Zirconia crowns are fantastic for posterior teeth since they are extra strong yet cosmetic.   E-max crowns tend to be more translucent and cosmetic and so are usually chosen for the anterior teeth.  NOTE that  there is no fear about the body rejecting zirconia or displaying an allergic reaction to it. It is safe to use and preferred by many people to porcelain fused to metal crowns.

There are three advantages which are:

  • Strength: zirconia crowns last longer than other types of crowns.
  • Aesthetics: these crowns are attractive and life-like
  • Retain more of the existing tooth than some porcelain crowns: since zirconium is so strong more of the original tooth is preserved. This is useful if the crown needs to be removed.

This is a good choice if you are looking for a strong, long lasting and visually appealing crown. They are ideal at covering signs of damage or staining as well as helping to maintain the function of the tooth.

These are similar to any other type of veneer except for the fact that they are far slimmer than these and even better, with the minimum of preparation.  Because they are patented by a major Lab, the cost is higher than normal veneers.

These veneers can be fitted onto the front of a tooth to hide the signs of damage such as a chip, crack or breakage. They are useful at hiding any gaps within the teeth as well as staining caused by various substances such as alcohol, tea or coffee and smoking.

Other veneers such as “razor thin” veneers are less expensive since they are not under patent restrictions.   Traditional veneers are thicker but that thickness can be very important.  The thickness not only adds strength, but also blocks out odd colors and shades, and can fill in “gaps” better!  Since I am an artist and sculptor,  I feel that I can give you a very artistic result and a consult that will make you feel confident.
